Add a seat

Adding a seat for the senior in your life

A seat is one senior's account. Adding a seat is the first half of getting someone using MeMe Care — the second half is enrolling them on their phone, which is its own guide.

What a seat is

A seat is one senior account billed under your subscription. The Standard plan includes one seat — that's for the family with one parent or grandparent to look after. Family 2 includes two seats, for a couple or two parents in different cities. Family 3 starts at three seats and can grow to ten, one seat at a time, using a per-seat add-on. That's for larger families or anyone helping a small group.

Each seat is one person. We don't recommend sharing a seat between two seniors — the app personalizes to one voice, one preferred language, and one address, and mixing two people's mail together makes the descriptions less accurate.

How to add one

Open the family portal at app.memecare.ai and sign in. Go to Seats and tap Add. You'll see a short form asking for the senior's first name, a phone number (we'll text them a setup link), and an optional mailing address.

If you're on the Standard plan and try to add a second seat, the portal will offer to upgrade you to Family 2. If you're on Family 3 and want a fourth seat, the portal will add the per-seat add-on. You'll see the price change before you confirm — nothing happens until you tap Add.

What we'll ask for

First name and phone number are required. The first name is what the app uses when it speaks to them — "Good morning, Margaret." The phone number is how we deliver the setup link.

The mailing address is optional but useful. When the senior scans a piece of mail, the app can check whether it's actually addressed to them. Mail to a different name or a different address is a strong scam-detection signal. If you skip the address, scans still work; they just lose that one safety check.

How pricing changes

Standard is for one senior. Family 2 is for two. Family 3 starts at three and adds seats one at a time, each seat priced as an add-on on top of the base Family 3 fee.

Pricing changes are pro-rated the same way most subscriptions handle this. If you add a seat mid-month, you'll see a partial charge for the days remaining; if you remove one, you'll see a small credit on the next invoice. The portal shows the exact numbers before you confirm.
