Why it matters

An NFC tag is a tiny sticker with a chip that an iPhone or Android reads just by touching it — no app to open, no button to press. iOS and Android have supported it since 2014. Consumer use cases never quite clicked. For older adults, they do.
The moment of friction for someone who's not fluent with phones isn't "which app do I open?" — it's "how do I get it to answer my question about this specific thing in front of me?" NFC tags collapse that to one gesture.
Because the content of each tag is managed by family from the dashboard, you can update it when the medication changes, when the thermostat gets replaced, or when a new scam makes the rounds. Physical stickers, dynamic answers.
Common questions.
Do I need special stickers?
The tags we ship work out of the box — we configure them for you so everything is one-tap instead of you programming them. Generic NFC tags from a hardware store also work if you prefer to buy them locally.
Can my parent write a tag themselves?
No hardware setup required on their side. Family adds a new tag from the dashboard, then hands the printed sticker over. Zero technical steps for the senior.
Does it work on Android?
NFC works on both iOS (iPhone 7 and newer) and Android. The MeMe Care mobile app is iPhone-first; Android is next.
What if my parent taps a sticker that isn't one of ours?
iOS asks the user before opening any NFC tag's content — no automatic navigation. A third-party tag won't hijack the app.
How many tags come with the plan?
The starter pack is 10 tags. Need more? Additional packs are $3 for a 10-pack. Family dashboard shows which tag is programmed to what.
